24, Sep, 2025

For its twentieth anniversary, Gallimard Bande Dessinée is teaming up with the RATP for a free exhibition at Bibliothèque François-Mitterrand station. From September 17 to December 31, 2025, the metro will turn into an open gallery where reality meets imagination with From Reality to Fantasy, Journeys in Comics.”

Since 2005 and the release of Aya of Yop City, the Gallimard Graphic Novels collection has grown to include more than 300 titles and 147 authors. To celebrate this journey, the exhibition showcases emblematic works from its catalogue: Aya of Yop City by Marguerite Abouet and Clément Oubrerie, Akissi de Paris by Marguerite Abouet and Mathieu Sapin, Brazen by Pénélope Bagieu, and The Rediscovered Night by Lola Lafon and Pénélope Bagieu, unveiled here in a preview.

At the heart of this selection stands The Little Prince, adapted by Joann Sfar. Published in 2008, this graphic novel interpretation of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s timeless story captures its emotion and poetry while breathing new life into it. With his expressive line and distinctive style, Joann Sfar offers an intimate and vibrant reimagining that resonates across generations.

Ten years after comics last appeared in the RATP network, this exhibition marks a long-awaited return, turning the metro into a cultural space for discovery. It’s a unique opportunity to travel between imagination and everyday life, even on a daily commute.

Head to the station and let yourself be carried away by the talent of the authors who have made comics shine through captivating stories!
