A new exhibition dedicated to The Little Prince opens in Hong Kong

9, Jul, 2026

For the 80th anniversary of the first publication of The Little Prince in France, the new exhibition "The Little Prince and the Pilot" invites the public in Hong Kong to rediscover the world of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

Presented from 26 June to 18 October 2026 at the University Museum and Art Gallery (UMAG) of The University of Hong Kong, in partnership with the Alliance Française of Hong Kong, The Little Prince and the Pilot offers a unique journey through the life and work of the writer, aviator, and artist.

The exhibition retraces the key stages of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s life, from his childhood to the creation of The Little Prince. Archival photographs, correspondence, personal mementos, aeronautical maps, flight documents, and objects linked to his career as a pilot provide a deeper understanding of the man behind this timeless work.

Visitors will also discover manuscripts, original drawings, first editions, and translations of The Little Prince. The exhibition experience is further enriched by eight life-size sculptures inspired by the world of The Little Prince, as well as a programme of activities designed for all audiences. Guided tours, educational workshops, summer camps, and themed French courses will extend this immersion into Saint-Exupéry’s work.

An exhibition that offers the Hong Kong public a new opportunity to encounter a poetic and humanist universe which, eighty years after its first publication in France, continues to inspire the world.
