After twelve seasons in Barcelona, the musical El Petit Príncep is now being performed in the Netherlands, where it is presented as De Kleine Prins.
Adapted from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s book, the show tells the story of the Little Prince’s encounter with an aviator in the desert, before following his journey across different planets and the encounters that shape his adventure. From the king and the businessman to the geographer and the fox, each encounter allows him to discover a little more about the world around him.
This Dutch adaptation features the original music composed by Manu Guix for the Barcelona production. The songs and dialogue have been adapted into Dutch for this new production, directed by Carolien Canters. The staging notably uses projections to bring the different planets to life and create the settings for the Little Prince’s journey.
Performed in several theatres across the Netherlands and Belgium, De Kleine Prins is introducing the story of the Little Prince to a new audience.
And the adventure continues in Barcelona: the 13th season of El Petit Príncep will begin in December 2026, bringing the musical back to the stage for a new series of performances and continuing its long-running journey with audiences.
