Two Little Prince stamps unveiled in Thailand for National Children’s Day

19, Jan, 2025

For National Children's Day on January 11, 2025, Thailand Post unveiled two commemorative stamps in tribute to The Little Prince at a ceremony at the Iconsiam Center in Bangkok.

Chaired by the French Ambassador to Thailand with Nicolas Delsalle-Mun, General Delegate of the Antoine de Saint Exupéry Youth Foundation, the event brought together Pilantanee Suwanbubbha, Director of Thailand Post, Jean-Marc Probst, founder of the Fondation pour Le Petit Prince, and Lise Talbot Barre, Counsellor for Cooperation and Cultural Action.

Created by artist Euamporn Supharoekchai, who has been designing stamps for Thailand Post for 15 years, the stamps highlight key moments in the tale:

  • The first stamp depicts The Little Prince in the middle of the desert, evoking one of the novel's most emblematic scenes.
  • The second shows The Little Prince in front of a mirror, wearing the traditional Raj Pattern costume, a symbol of elegance and Thai culture.

In addition to these creations, the event marked the launch of several initiatives:

The Mogan Local Language Book Launch - Presentation of the Moken-language edition of The Little Prince, a first in this minority language.

The Little Prince Universe - An Immersive Journey - A press conference announcing an immersive exhibition scheduled from January 24 to May 11, 2025, at the Iconsiam Center, organized by MadMotion and its partners.

These projects reflect the universal and intergenerational impact of The Little Prince, while highlighting its roots in Thai culture.
