Experience The Little Prince in a live cine-concert for the first time in Vendée

10, May, 2025

On December 7, 2025, the Vendéspace in La Roche-sur-Yon will host the world premiere of the cine-concert of Mark Osborne’s film The Little Prince. Programmed by the Vendée Department and produced by Jamais 203, this unique performance blends the magic of animated cinema with the emotion of a live symphonic orchestra, offering a fully immersive, poetic, and sensory experience.

Awarded the César for Best Animated Film in 2016, this film reimagines Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s masterpiece through the eyes of a studious Little Girl, whose meticulously structured life is upended by her eccentric neighbor, the Aviator. As she discovers the story of the Little Prince he once met, she is drawn into an extraordinary and poetic world filled with symbolic characters, and learns that what is essential is invisible to the eye.

The film’s original score, composed by Hans Zimmer and Richard Harvey, will be performed live by the Prague Symphonic Ensemble, an orchestra made up of top musicians from the Czech capital, conducted by Jérôme Kuhn. This large ensemble of 70 musicians will bring to life the film’s emotional and delicate music, further enriched by the voice of French singer Camille.

The film will be screened in its full French version, with dialogue and sound effects, while the orchestra performs live, within an immersive stage design created especially for the occasion. This unique production, supported by the Antoine de Saint-Exupéry Youth Foundation, will launch a French tour in 2026, followed by a European tour, totaling twenty performances.
