On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the publication in France of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s iconic tale, Monnaie de Paris unveils a new chapter of its collaboration with The Little Prince through an exclusive collection of mini medals.
The little traveller from the stars has set down his bags in seven iconic locations across the capital: Saint Germain des Prés, the Arc de Triomphe - Champs Élysées, Place de la Bastille, the Sacré Cœur Basilica in Montmartre, Notre Dame de Paris, the Opéra de Paris, and the Champ de Mars. Each medal illustrates a poetic stop on this journey through the heart of Paris.
This collection pays tribute to 80 years of adventures and journeys by highlighting the various modes of transport associated with the universe of The Little Prince. Airplanes, planets, compasses, telescopes, and luggage come together in original creations that invite escape and imagination. Through this initiatory tale, Monnaie de Paris also celebrates Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, a great traveller and aviator.
